This is the face of a cat that didn't get a Lush Designs bowl for Christmas.

We've started...

...wrapping presents.

This scissors (pictured) are REALLY BLUNT, no word of a lie.  Why is it now that I discover that the dog has slightly chewed the sellotape? Or at least I presume it was him.

Never mind.  I'm going to tuck into those Persimmons.  (or is it Sharon Fruit?)
...and the satsumas (or is it tangerines? Clementines?)

It wasn't me.

AND these scissors are blunt too.

Fowl play

Those of us who enjoy walking in urban parks take an interest in the wildfowl therein.
Who could fail to be delighted by the sight of a majestic Canada Goose or a comical moorhen?

We've committed these delights to print and produced a set of three stacking bowls as a tribute to this feature of our urban nature-scape. In gentle blue-green and black on cream, these bowls are oven-proof and look great empty or full of soup, salad or satsumas.
You can buy them at www.lushlampshades.co.uk.

As an afterthought, we also made a Christmas card with this Greylag Goose who fortunately has escaped the fate of many a poor goose at this time of year. We'll not be feasting on bird this year, and will enjoy our Mushroom Wellington in the knowledge that no goose perished to grace our table.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...

Oh yes its over...Summer that is. I'm sure you noticed, it hung on for ages, but I actually did need a vest under my blouse this morning.

However, it has to be said that Autumn brings a few of my favourite things.  See here a tiny pumpkin snuggling up to a pomegranate and the sheer orangeyness is enough to bring on an attack of the HYGGEsYou'll observe that the half-term flower arrangement is contained within one of our new Winter Trees mugs, which you can find on the interwebbes HERE

Favourite with me too is the flurry of new products arriving at Lush Designs, after all that designing its useful to see that you haven't got it all wrong and a Slender Loris on a Bone China mug is as good an idea as you thought it might be at its inception.  Ready for *Christmas*.

My favourite person (Truffy) got to keep this ceramic dog bowl, which is part of our new range of stoneware. He's waiting for something beefy by the looks of it...

Having done a bit of photographing of new products in my favourite place (the kitchen) they seem to magically stay in my house.  Well, you can't have too many cushions and mugs can you?

These are a few of my favourite things

Candle pots...the gift that keeps on giving

Need a present for someone who quite literally has EVERYTHING?

Do you know someone who is a massive fancy-pants who must surround themselves with luxury at all times?

Are you wondering what to get your friend who has never got over David Bowie's death and needs cheering up in a quasi-spiritual way?

We have the answer....

Its a deliciously scented soya-wax candle in a charming bone-china pot which your fancy, luxury-loving or sad recipient can utilise for ever more.

Its also perfect for people whose houses smell of socks and drains.  It'll sort that right out.

When the candle is used up the pot is perfect for keeping humbugs, cotton buds or David Bowie's toenail-clippings in.

If you like dogs...

You're going to LOVE our new range of dog-related wares
They said to us "Pugs are the canine equivalent of Jeanette Crankie, small and a bit silly."

NO!  we cried, pugs are great, you can pull their tail out straight and they boing back again like a spring!
You can always find them if they're hiding because they make that grunting noise!
You can put them in your bag and sneak them into swanky restaurants!
(Here's the very bag...)

We've managed to bring out the nobility of the beast in this design which has many of our favourite breeds represented, French Bulldogs,  a Bedlington Terrier, Dachshunds, they're all there
In sophisticated neutral tones to complement your polished concrete whatnot and your french grey credenza.  You'll be the envy of all your friends
Look at this cushion.  Just BEGGING to be sat on.

Shakes

Our new design celebrates 400 years of William Shakespeare.

Next year we may well be celebrating another famous Englishman, for 15th October 2017 will be the 30th anniversary of The Tempest for which he is famous.  Was it a tragedy, or a comedy, that fateful weather forecast in which Michael Fish (for it is he) downplayed, indeed MOCKED the very idea that a hurricane was on its way? A bit of both, methinks.

I'm saying nothing

This is a tea towel btw.

Salt n Pepa

Here is a NEW design which will be making its way onto a bevy of Lush Designs products

When we were lasses, way back in the last century, we used to flick our bad hair to THESE crazy ladies doing the do:  Push It

Spot the connection.

Perhaps we should contact them and ask if they'd like some Salt and Pepper design Oven Gloves?

Poetry...not just for romantics...

No indeed,

We like to think that TS Eliot would have enjoyed using a Lush Designs notebook,

although he managed to write the magnificently unromantic
Love song of J. Alfred Prufrock without one ...

Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient etherized upon a table;
Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets,
The muttering retreats
Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels
And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells:
Streets that follow like a tedious argument
Of insidious intent
To lead you to an overwhelming question ...
Oh, do not ask, “What is it?”
Let us go and make our visit.

Take your pick and pluck a lovely little notebook from our range and see if you can start a whole new career as a poet...
